The NWTAN Board is made up of between six and eight Directors who will serve a term of two years.
Our Board meets monthly.

Following the AGM, these Directors will elect, amongst themselves:

  • President,

  • Vice-President of Advocacy,

  • Vice-President of Membership, and

  • Treasurer.

Unless continued funding is secured, it’s important to note that our board of Directors will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the organization effective July 16, 2026.

eligibility

According to our bylaws, to be eligible to stand for nomination as a Director, individuals shall:

  1. Be endorsed by at least two Members, one of which must be an Independent Member;

  2. Be a resident of the Northwest Territories;

  3. Have at least three (3) years of experience working in non-profits or serving a non-profit board of directors;

  4. Submit a nomination package to the NWTAN Board or designate according to the nomination process established by the NWTAN Board;

  5. Be assessed as qualified by the NWTAN Board or designate.

Our Board is accountable to a Member Advisory Circle (MAC), made up of members.

The MAC ensures that member priorities are included and considered in our Board’s decisions.
