The Northwest Territories’ Association of Non-profits (NWTAN) is a member-driven non-profit association dedicated to strengthening and championing the territory’s non-profit sector. NWTAN works to ensure that non-profits across the NWT are connected, supported, and recognized for their vital contributions to the health, safety, well-being, belonging, and economic stability of communities.

Mission
NWTAN advocates for and strengthens the Northwest Territories’ non-profit sector by fostering equity, solidarity, and community service throughout the territory.
Vision
A resilient and impactful non-profit sector that shapes equitable policy, strengthens communities, and drives lasting change across the Northwest Territories.
Mandate
NWTAN accomplishes its mission through:
Advocating for policy, funding, and legislative changes that strengthen the non-profit sector.
Promoting the visibility, value, and recognition of the non-profit sector.
Creating spaces for connection, learning, relationship-building, and coalition-building among non-profits.
Collecting and sharing data that supports strategic decision-making, advocacy, and planning within the non-profit sector.

Member Advisory Circle
Our Member Advisory Circle (MAC) is an advisory group that oversees the work of our Board. The purpose of the MAC is to provide feedback, share trends and realities facing the non-profit sector in the NWT, and ensure that the Board is being responsive to the needs and priorities of members.
